3 Week Update

Image
We are coming towards the end of my 4th transfer here in Como! 2 more weeks, which is still a large chunk, but crazy nonetheless. Needless to say it has been a fast (almost) 6 months. We still have so many sweet people growing so much and showing excitement to learn even more! Not too many new people to talk about this time but many of the same as the past one!   We have also had some good p-day adventures the past few weeks as well! Seeing as I don't know where I will be moving to, I wanted to make sure that I really got my Milan p-day in so we finally had one with a lot of places I had been dying to see. We went to the biggest park in Milan with a castle (what!?!?!) We saw some Roman entry ways into the city (as Milan was the capital of the Roman empire for more than a decade). Went to Eataly (a big supermarket that is also in...Chicago:) )We went to the heart of Milan for fashion week. Which led to us seeing some random boy band and an old naked guy in the span of 2 minutes. And...

Good 2 Weeks

It's email time again! The weeks have been flying by pretty fast here; I can't believe it has been 19 weeks in Como already. And I still don't want to leave in 5 weeks since so many good things are going on! Let's catch up on some of our friends: -Villanueva family: We have only done a couple lessons so far but they are a cute little Peruvian family that is so sweet. We were also instantly invited into their house which is somewhat rare. We also take our amazing member Fernando with us because he speaks spanish so he is able to clear up those things.  -Micheal: He is already a missionary. I found him like a month ago now and honestly felt kinda bad that I was even reporting him as a find because I could not tell how interested he was at all. But he agreed to meet again so I had faith. The first time we went over he invited his son and they were so into it. And the next time he brought another friend to join us who was more interested than the first two! -Jose: He is jus...

Another Update!

Image
Okay these last few weeks have been pretty crazy ahah. But sometimes in a good way! I think that the highlight was this past weekend. For the first time in a long time we had a friend come to church with us! His name is Jose and we met like a month ago and he has been busy but then said that he is free and would come! It was so great, it felt like just being with a real friend. During the second hour we were asked by a member to come to class with him while he taught the youth. And he invited our friend of course and as soon as he found out it was his first time he was so great! He explained how church worked and bore testimony of the Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith, the modern apostles and prophets, and just explained what we were talking about in the bible this week so well! (if you are someone who enjoys reading the bible, why not do the 'come follow me' program? You may ask: "Ma che cos'è? Message me to find out) And sorry to everyone else but then Sunday night I got ...

Nearly halfway update

Image
Things are going well here in Como! We have found a lot of new people, done a few lessons, and continue to try our hardest to meet with some of our old friends but they are pretty hard to catch sometimes ahah. But we see miracles daily and are always humbled by seeing the Lord do his work and just makes us watch sometimes (like how I messed up the bus and we had to wait 2 hours...but we found 5 people in that time!) Speaking of fun little miracles, while walking to our appointment one time we ran into a tourist (not the biggest shock in the world...) but as soon as I noticed she kept saying "wo" for "where" I took out the bressanone German and helped her find the train station she was looking for and explained where we are from and that we are missionaries here! She may not be baptized but she knows that boys that helped her get to her train. We also get to help a lot of tourist take their bags up the stairs Como San Giovanni (fun tip: always take the train to Como ...

Quick lil update

I do not have much time at all but I wanted to give some highlights from the past couple of weeks. So with transfers my old companion left to go to the beach and party while I keep working hard here (aka he was transferred to la spezia). And I received a new missionary fresh from the MTC. But first let's back up a second. So the new missionaries are matched up with their trainers on Saturday. So what did I do for 3 days? Partied with Anziano Birchall. I stayed in his town (because he has AC) and we filmed some things for the mission. I got to say goodbye to so many missionaries going home and helped the senior couples cook some food and clean up. It was so much fun (and the food is SO good). Then saturday meet up with new missionary (anziano Greene). Boom then his first day here is sunday. Church goes great, I talk to members more than ever before. Boom monday we go back to milan for MLC (shoutout to sorella Zeidner reading this, my mission best friend). So basically even up u...

La vità è così

Ciao a tutti! Spero che tutto vada bene per voi :) ( I see my friends send stuff in their mission language so I wanted to join the fun) Well depending on how you count, summer is nearly halfway over already. I can't believe I'm actually enjoying it? I've never been one to like the heat and bright sun but there is something about it that does boost my energy a bit and push me to work just a little bit harder. Over the past two weeks we: 🚄Had interviews at the mission office again. There was another birthday just like last time, and I got to meet the new senior couple 🚇Went to Milan last p-day and basically just sat in a dead field while the sun roasted our skin (but it was nice to get a bit of a tan started) 🚎Did a lot of Bus finding. 1,000% my favorite way to do it, especially if the bus has A/C 🌇Drew the entire "Rete metropolitana di Milano" during one of my studies... ☔Attended a baptism for Como 1! It was the first one they have had in years, the whole ward...

End of June

Image
June is already over! I feel like it is still supposed to be spring, how is it moving by so fast? These past couple of weeks have brought some of the biggest changes that I have seen. We have seen constant miracles and have grown so much here in Como! We took zone conference to heart, and we know that the Lord has prepared at least one person a day. And we have seen that tenfold (well okay not really but still a ton). And the weird thing is that I would say we have been putting in a similar amount of work, but the faith I had in my previous statement was just more true than ever. And this leads to some great things! We have had a woman chase after us asking if we could meet with her and her son. I have sat next to people on buses who said they ran into missionaries years ago and would like to meet some more. We were even approached on the train by a guy who said that he is just searching for this relationship with God like he hasn't had before.  Following the 2020 co...
