End of June

Image
June is already over! I feel like it is still supposed to be spring, how is it moving by so fast? These past couple of weeks have brought some of the biggest changes that I have seen. We have seen constant miracles and have grown so much here in Como! We took zone conference to heart, and we know that the Lord has prepared at least one person a day. And we have seen that tenfold (well okay not really but still a ton). And the weird thing is that I would say we have been putting in a similar amount of work, but the faith I had in my previous statement was just more true than ever. And this leads to some great things! We have had a woman chase after us asking if we could meet with her and her son. I have sat next to people on buses who said they ran into missionaries years ago and would like to meet some more. We were even approached on the train by a guy who said that he is just searching for this relationship with God like he hasn't had before.  Following the 2020 co...

Train trips

Warning: I have no time to spell check or read over so I hope everything comes out alright This p-day is truly one of rest after going to MLC monday, then turning around and going back for Zone Conference the next day. Although in all honesty I'm glad we didn't just stay because there is nothing like your own bed. And they were 2 days filled with great conversations, insights, and spiritual messages.  Quick list: *I had to say goodbye to some of my favorite missionaries going home this transfer *I have had $2 on my card for the past 5 days *We ran into members walking past a gelateria, and while we were eating another member family walked past (who were walking with their tour boat guide because she said that they had a light and wanted to talk with them more #referral) *Walking home from that interaction we walked into the extended family of the first family we met *We went out with some members to advertise a family history event, they really taught me about being ...

Hello everyone, I hope everything is going well!  Things are going well here in Como, it is somewhat hard to remember everything that happened the past 2 weeks but I will do my best to remember. -We had interviews, and got to have them at the mission office -Had another p-day in milan, this time visiting hard rock cafe, the duomo, and some other shops🤩 -One of the street vendors was actually a member of the church and showed us the missionary cards she had in her cart to give to customers -This p-day we got to go on a 2.5 hour boat ride to Bellagio! (saw the house of gucci villa)😌 -Our ads are still exploding after 2 days having to be down because I caused a fraud alert🥳 We had a great exchange this past monday. We were on the train back from switching comps when I sat next to a woman and felt like we should start talking. So after a little hype up talk to myself I started a conversation. And it was great! Then the woman asked if I was with the other american sitting...

Milan Mission Technology Captain & Mission Leadership Training Meetings

Image
We did not get an email this week from Anziano Puzey but he did upload a bunch of pictures to share with the family in Google drive. As the technology captain for the mission, Jackson attended the Mission Leaders Training meetings. He also took photos, videos and interviewed fellow missionaries.

Time is going by fast in Como. But also the mission seems to just get faster and faster. For actual Como things are going okay. We found some people that seem a bit interested, but the only lessons I've done have had to be over google translate into amharic. And sadly she is not legally allowed to come to church because she can't leave Switzerland... but she did enjoy the Book of Mormon we gave her in her language!  And in some ways it is good that things are not too crazy because I am having to spend as much time as possible sending out referrals from our tech ads. There are a lot of people that want to learn Italian from Spanish, and so far almost 1,200 of them also want to hear a spiritual message from the missionaries....I'm probably more than a week behind but they are being sent out to their local missionaries!  I have just felt very thankful the past couple of weeks. I'm grateful for my new city, my mission, all the things I get to be a part of, and how I am able...

1st week in Como

Image
Ciao everyone, it has been awhile. Quite a few changes have happened. After 19 weeks in Brixen/Bressanone I have moved to Como. It was a really hard goodbye to some of my favorite people. Especially the Branch President and his wife, I am as close to them as some friends at home... But I guess that is the life of a missionary. I've been in Como for a week now and it is beautiful too. I like being so close to the lake and our church building is pretty amazing. And serving in a big ward is such a big difference. I had some great pictures of the things I just mentioned but sadly my SD card broke so I do not have them anymore...Some were posted on facebook though!  The Italian is coming back. I get the chance to use it daily again which has been great. It takes some patience and can be scary but that's what learning is all about. Our main finding city is actually Chiasso in Switzerland, and multiple members live across the border. It actually does feel surprisingly different after...

Transfer from Beloved Brixen to Como

Image
Anziano Puzey did not email this week but he was transferred from Brixen to Como. After spending three transfers in one area he had become very attached to some of the people, especially the Branch President and his wife Emilee who is an American from Spokane, WA. Even though he didn't get an email out he did share pictures on messenger with us that I wanted to be sure to document.  Emilee and Jared Puff  Branch president and wife of Brixen Branch. Also,  Jackson is not supposed to text or message us directly except on pday. Since he got his transfer orders a few days before pday he posted these pictures in the google drive to give us clues as to where he was going and who his new companion would be.
