1st week in Como
Ciao everyone, it has been awhile. Quite a few changes have happened. After 19 weeks in Brixen/Bressanone I have moved to Como. It was a really hard goodbye to some of my favorite people. Especially the Branch President and his wife, I am as close to them as some friends at home... But I guess that is the life of a missionary. I've been in Como for a week now and it is beautiful too. I like being so close to the lake and our church building is pretty amazing. And serving in a big ward is such a big difference. I had some great pictures of the things I just mentioned but sadly my SD card broke so I do not have them anymore...Some were posted on facebook though!
The Italian is coming back. I get the chance to use it daily again which has been great. It takes some patience and can be scary but that's what learning is all about.
Our main finding city is actually Chiasso in Switzerland, and multiple members live across the border. It actually does feel surprisingly different after you cross. It feels way cleaner, the roads just look newer, the traffic lights turn yellow before turning green and apparently jaywalking actually leads to a fine. It also feels a lot more empty which is weird.
We had MLC on Monday and it was pretty powerful. There were a lot of great messages, discussions, and trainings. We were also given an update on an ad that I helped to run. Apparently the number has now jumped to over 650 people requesting a visit from the missionaries. And it's not just from the ad, it is people who saw the ad sharing it with their friends as well, which is amazing!
And speaking of Switzerland that is where we spent our first p-day (Lugano). We walked around the city a bit, got some free chocolate at a chocolate factory, and ate lunch at Ikea. I was actually surprised how nice this town was. It did not disappoint (let's just say it even had an Hermes store)
I am running out of time, but I love you all and hope everything is going well. So grateful for the opportunity I have to be here serving those around me and gaining the experiences that I am.
