Italy Milan Mission Anziano Jackson Puzey August 2022-July 2024

Anziano Puzey did not write an email this week but the Milan Italy Mission Facebook page posted pictures from zone conference for the Verona and Venezia Zones, which Jackson attended over the weekend of February 18-19, 2023. Also this week, Jackson sent us a photo of his new missionary tags...in German. Since he is serving in an area that borders Austria and they speak German (Austrian German) they were given new tags to reflect this. Jackson's companion was Anziano Evans, you can see them presenting together in the picture. 

Not much happened these past 2 weeks. And I wasn't able to write an email last week which may or may not have been due to getting back from a dinner appointment at 11. Most of our lessons fell through and we were mostly trying to find through facebook and street contacting. Last P-day we did get to see Lago Di Carezza & the moutains, it was very beautiful. I don't know if there is really a 'bad area' or zone in our mission but I do feel very blessed being to serve up here in the mountains. It was much colder there then it has been here in Bressanone, but I really enjoyed our snow hike around the lake. Then on Monday we were able to go back to Milan again, this time to pick up my Permesso!! I'm legal now! (Well I think I always was, but it's still nice to have). It was also a lot less stressful to pick up than it was going the first time. And it only took 3 hours. This week was somewhat of a blur. I wouldn't say it flew by, but it also felt like it just was 2 days long. Since I don't have the most time (helping with transfers today!) I'll just share about the best Sunday yet! It started pretty slow and normal, until we were missing 3 families that normally come. It was sad but nothing crazy. Then as I knelt to bless the Sacrament 8 people rush into the room and filled the seats right infront of me. I look up, do some quick math and break more bread seeing as the amount of people just increased by 50%. I also notice one is wearing a cotapaxi (or however that is spelled) jacket. So I knew they were Americans. Problaby from Utah. As we were cleaning up after the lunch our member Consuelo (remember the mom who runs everything?) told us that everytime the branch is missing people, we have visitors. It has been said that there was a gas strike today. So to save our gas (as we had a 3 hour roundtrip drive today to visit a family) we had a very calm p-day. But I did get to buy House of Gucci in Italian. Late once again but I have a feeling this one will be much shorter. The past 2 weeks we have been in charge of Facebook Blitz. We meet with a zone and give a 30 minute training on how to find online and what to text and how to be genuine. Then the next day everyone would try to message as many people as possible. They went really well and people loved my bingo idea (not trying to brag hehe). Each square had something like "message someone who has a dog" to "Share a link to the book of Mormon". Some zones did better than others but it was still really fun overall. We're also working on our landing page so we can put more ads on Facebook. Self referrals are always the best. What a couple of weeks it has been. Complete with 2 trips to Milan, over 24 hours of driving, a new assignment, an Italian woman praying on my downfall, nights spent on the floor, a success getting gas, and dead people. The first week went a bit like this: We were able to do our normal service project on Thursday. We go to Haus der Solidarität, which is a place for all sorts of people in need of shelter and food. This week we got to cook lunch for everyone! We made some pasta and potatoes and everyone seemed to really enjoy it. We baked treats for and took them to our members, complete with an hour searching for a house that was actually on the complete other side of the city. We also had our first couple successful street contacts in our new area (update...no contact). W e visited a friend that has met with missionaries a bit and we talked about Baptism and just enjoyed meeting her. But the highlight was definitely her son. He looked pretty young, maybe 2? A lot went on this past wek so I will do my best to sum everything up.(Can't remember if this was mentioned in the last email, but I don't think so) Last Thursday we headed down to stay in Verona again. This time I was driving and there were only 8 of us there so I got a bed. Then Friday we continued our journey to Bologna. We had an amazing Christmas conference. We got to meet the whole Wood family. Their grandchildren did the nativity as we sang the songs. And we got to hear all of their children's testimony on the Living Christ. It was such a great time complete with food and Christmas games and only one person got hurt!  On Christmas eve we got to eat with the Campos family. It was a typical Peruvian Christmas meal. It was so nice of them to have us over and we felt very loved. Then on Christmas we went to church (where I got to do the Sacrament again, with HUGE improvement. Very excited for next week). Hallo everyone! This email is very rushed. I guess it's a good sign that time  is flying so fast! We got to meet our branch at our Christmas party on Saturday (well some of them)! It was basically a family party with a couple extra people. It was so much fun. The Branch Presidents wife is also from Washington so we got along pretty well. Everyone was nice. The grandma of the family was kinda scary at first. Until I realized it's just her sense of humor. I was just impressed with the Puff family (they are basically the whole branch. And they run everything). They all speak English, German, and Italian. So playing bingo they call out the numbers 3 times to make sure everyone knows. Then it was the big day. Sunday. I was asked to bless the Sacrament, no flying under the radar here. Fun fact: When you just have one tray for bread and one for water it means you get to bless the Sacrament all alone. And you have to show how bad your pronunciation is on your 4th day of learning German...
