For the last p-day before transfers we are in Verona. I'm not sure if it's the weather, the sights, everyone else around us but it feels like we're really on vacation. That and it is far from our area and I haven't been able to sleep in my own bed since Saturday.
On Monday I was on an exchange in Trento. By far the most exciting part was getting to visit my friend Corrado at his work (hoping I remember to attach the photo) he work at the main center that monitors the A22 (a freeway). They're mostly in charge of responding to emergencies, it looked just like a building out of a marvel movie.
Tuesday we went to Milan again. The 4th time dealing with our permit cards. This time we took the train instead of driving. I think they're tired of paying the gas and tolls it takes to get there. I never get tired of visiting but the emails do all sound the same.
Not much happened in our actual area this week. We had a good lesson with our member Walter about the temple, and he's really excited for the next branch temple trip. And we told him how peaceful it is and about how it is the house of the Lord on earth.
And on Sunday I did extra practice before blessing the Sacrament and really tried to mimic the german flow of some of the longer words. And after a member came up after and told me I did "perfekt", so that made me feel pretty good :)
Pretty nerve-wracking going into the weekend. We'll hear either Sunday or Monday if either of us are leaving, where we'd go and who we would be with.
Anziano Puzey's email seemed to be ended abruptly this week---maybe ran out of time--but he doesn't explain the subject of his email. For pday he and several other missionaries were able to visit the home in Verona that inspired
Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. They also got to see several cool buildings in Verona and visit a Starbucks. Also, when he visited the Autostrada with his friend Corrado, this is what he told us about it when we talked to him:
'They control the speed limits, emergencies (SOS boxes along the freeway), toll booths, manage pollution, they share a building with the police too so they help them on calls. Control everything that goes on the electronic signs, the speed cameras (which I found out are smarter than I thought and can make sure you're not speeding at any point along the road), and just monitor traffic flow in general.'
