Caves

I'm finding it hard to think of what to write about this week. It felt a bit longer than last week. Maybe going back to 7 days instead of 6 really did a number on me.

I'll just share a highlight: oddly enough it was at a funeral. It wasn't for a member of a ward but a family member of a couple people in the ward. The guy putting it all together was his brother, and he asked me to sit on the stand with him so he wasn't alone (he then proceeded to leave me and sit at the piano in the corner the whole time). But he had a friend conduct and he sat next to me. It was a weird experience being able to look at the faces of everyone who knew this man, who I'd never meet or talked to. When the man's son (who was about my age) gave a talk, most people gave out and began to cry. And also clap? I guess it's how they encouraged him to keep speaking through his tears. It was a great experience and I felt like for some reason that day I wasn't really seen as just a missionary, but me, Jackson. People would come and say hi to me, instead of just saying "in freccia" and giving an Italian hand.

A lot of the talks made me thankful for the great knowledge we have about life after death. We don't have to wonder or worry. We can be sad, and should be! But we can also find a lot of piece and comfort. So if you're a friend with some questions don't be afraid to email and ask me!

Today's p-day took us to some Caves (maybe the biggest in Europe?). It was the biggest in the world when discovered in the 70's. But I think the discovered some in China that are like 11× larger. It was incredible to see just how big and grand God's creation is. And there are probably so many places still lost in the world that we've not discovered. The main cavern was discovered when someone found a hole the size of a soccerball. And it's big enough to fit the Duomo in Milano without touching a single wall. In the pictures I'll include one with a Salagmight (I cannot spell that nor can I look it up) on the wall. While it looks a couple feet tall it's really 7. It helps to give some perspective.

Love you all so much, p-days are such a highlight getting to catch up a bit.

Oh also the town and ride to the cave reminded me of Provo Canyon. So that made me happy.
