I'm a Ferrari

This one is for the car lovers. I'll start with last p-day we got to go to the Ferrari Mesuem in Maranello. The only problem is that it took quite awhile to get there. So we had to take a train from rimini to Modena. Once there we got bus tickets to go to the mesuem. Okay first mistake (and only mistake really). To keep a long story short we were given the wrong bus tickets because there are two mesuems (one close and one far) and the police on the bus checking our tickets did not find seem to find much mercy in our story. He starting taking Passports and credit cards for a €65 ticket. But the Italians both on and off the bus were not afraid to confront the cops in our defense. In the end after their boss showed up we were just told to make sure to be more specific next time. On the way home we just payed for the more expensive ferrari shuttle to take us back to the station to avoid further problems. It was well worth it and I'm glad I was able to knock something off my italian bucket list so soon in my mission. And this week we're playing it safe and just staying in our town.

Back to the missionary things. We had pur first revamped English connect class. We created a Facebook group and really pushed some advertising in town. We got over 300 people to join our Facebook group! Of which a whole 5 showed up to class. Not a large amount but they're the best 5 people I got to meet that day :) . Also this week we got to teach the plan of salvation. It was the first time since I've been out that we've been able to teach something other than the restoration/ book of Mormon.

I think I've seen many mini blessings this week as well. To start we had a rougher day early in the week and I was kinda tired after walking for a few hours. As we walked past a street performer I prayed a little prayer to just have a better mood and right then the street performer switched to playing city of stars, the song that had been stuck in my head that whole day and I really wanted to listen to it. And he had obviously not practiced it much before because it was a pretty rough attempt at singing it but I still loved it. Another blessing was on Sunday. While I'm very patient with myself there are still times that I can be a little down about the language barrier. My parents are about to roll their eyes but I can feel a bit like Gloria from modern family when she says: "I know what I meant to mean! Do you even know how smart I am in Spanish? Of course you don't. For once, it would be nice to speak to someone in my own language in my own home". I obviously don't have it as bad. And thay is a show not real life. But I can feel some of that frustration. But imagine my surprise when 3 English couples came into our Sacrament meeting back to back. They weren't traveling together. They we're all there for different reasons. 2 were from America and the other couple lived in Germany but the wife was from England. So with all of us there we made up a large portion of our congregation that day.

Scripture:
1 John 4
7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

We meet many people every day. Some nicer than others. Many are kind even if they don't want to learn more. I've truly learned to love and appreciate these people. After a little in the field it's also easy to tell which people are willing to stop and who aren't. And I'll just say it's not often the people who seem perfectly put together and "well to do" that give us the time of day. But imagine my shock as my companion walked up to just such a couple. Dressed nice, designer bags, fancy jewelry & walking in a hurry. Not only did they stop (well one of them) but the man even took of his Gucci sunglasses to be able to look us in the eye and show respect. I had to backtrack back to my companion because I thought there was no chance they were gonna stop. We didn't get his number or get him to church; but he shock our hands asked about our missions stated his beliefs and told us "bravo".

As Ellen uses to say: be kind to one another.

PS I totally forgot to also mention that we had Zone conference this past week; which means I got to see presidante and sorella Wood again which is always a good time. It was a nice break and we got to stay the night in Bologna. I enjoyed getting to walk around and explore another city, that's also a little bit bigger than our town. We had to walk around all over the city for an ATM because my comps found out after they got haircuts that it was cash only. I also got to have my second Italian pizza. I'm really missing my nearly daily MOD from this past summer. And today we're off to our weekly market in town. Please keep the updates coming!
