Missionary Training Center August 31 - September 26 2022

Jackson had the blessed experience of being in the MTC with his aunt and uncle. Doug's sister Tiffany and her husband, Dave, arrived just a few days after Jackson at the MTC. They were preparing to serve in the mission office of the London Manchester mission. 
Jackson ended up having some medical problems while at the MTC that necessitated a couple doctor's visits and an off-campus ultrasound. Aunt Tiff and Uncle Dave were able to drive him to his appointments and be with him during discussions with the doctors.  It was such a blessing to have Aunt Tiffany there, not only to support Jackson during an unsettling time but also to be eyes/ears for us (Mom and Dad) at home. (They also snuck him in contraband snacks like Mountain Dew), 
We definitely count this time and experience as a divine signature.

Hands down my favorite picture of Jackson during his time at the MTC was the one of him wearing sunglasses cause the sun was coming in the window and shining in his eyes. Reminds me of a 1950's men in black movie :) Jackson did a 'photoshoot' with one of his besties (Emma Stephens) from freshman year at BYU. They didn't see the need to maintain the social distancing rule between Elders and Sisters, being such good friends and all :) Jackson was blessed to have several BYU friends with him at the MTC. 
He saw his friend Claire at the SLC airport as they were both preparing to depart to the countries they'd be serving in. So fun to see all of them going to serve the Lord to all corners of the world! 








 
Meanwhile, back at home...Jackson's missionary plaque is put up in the display case at the Stake Center.

Temi & Israel

I have already written about the people who were baptized this past week but as a little reminder: Temi and her 3 kids were invited to come to church in the middle of Febuary and have come every week since. We were able to give her the Book of Mormon on that first Sunday and explain a few things about our church and set up a return appointment. Israel and her other sons found friends in the primary and, for the first time, found a church they wanted to keep coming back to. As they kept coming, they truly became a part of the branch and are known by all. They were baptized just a few days after Israel's 8th birthday and enjoyed celebrating with the whole branch. It was a great ceremony and it was so amazing seeing everyone come together. Our primary played a big role. We had them give a special musical number and a few kids talked about their baptismal experience. End of June

June is already over! I feel like it is still supposed to be spring, how is it moving by so fast? These past couple of weeks have brought some of the biggest changes that I have seen. We have seen constant miracles and have grown so much here in Como! We took zone conference to heart, and we know that the Lord has prepared at least one person a day. And we have seen that tenfold (well okay not really but still a ton). And the weird thing is that I would say we have been putting in a similar amount of work, but the faith I had in my previous statement was just more true than ever. And this leads to some great things! We have had a woman chase after us asking if we could meet with her and her son. I have sat next to people on buses who said they ran into missionaries years ago and would like to meet some more.
